INDICATIONS: 

Ranir is indicated in: Treatment and maintenance therapy of duodenal ulcer; management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD; including erosive or ulcerative disease); short-term treatment of benign gastric ulcer; treatment of pathologic hypersecretory conditions (Zollinger-Ellison); maintenance therapy for gastric ulcer patients at reduced dosage after healing of acute ulcers; treatment of endoscopically diagnosed erosive esophagitis; maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis.

 BEFORE YOU TAKE RANIR Do not take Ranir if you are allergic to Ranir. Before using Ranir, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you

  • Have  kidney disease;
  • Have liver disease;  
  • Have porphyria.
  • Are pregnant
  • Are breast-feeding

 HOW TO TAKE RANIR Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label.Your doctor may recommend an antacid to help relieve pain. Carefully follow your doctors directions about the type of antacid to use, and when to use it.The usual dose is one tablet at night or up to one tablet twice a day. Swallow each tablet whole with a drink of water.It may take up to 8 weeks of using this medicine before your ulcer heals. For best results, keep using the medication as directed. Talk with your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 6 weeks of treatment. This medication can cause you to have unusual results with certain medical tests. Tell any doctor who treats you that you are using Ranir. IF YOU MISS A DOSETake the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose. 
 

WHAT TO DO IF AN OVERDOSE IS TAKEN

In that case do not delay, ask your doctor immediately what to do or contact your nearest hospital emergency department.Overdose symptoms may include lack of coordination, feeling light-headed, or fainting. TAKING OTHER MEDICINEBefore taking Ranir, tell your doctor if you are taking triazolam. You may not be able to use Ranir, or you may need dosage adjustments or special tests during treatment.There may be other drugs that can interact with Ranir, or be affected by Ranir. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter medications you use. This includes vitamins, minerals, herbal products, and drugs prescribed by other doctors. Do not start using a new medication without telling your doctor.Avoid drinking alcohol. It can increase the risk of damage to your stomach.  
 SIDE EFFECTS: Stop using Ranir and get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects: Chest pain, fever, feeling short of breath, coughing up green or yellow mucus;Easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness, fast or slow heart rate, problems with your vision;Fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash, nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice.Less serious side effects may include:Headache, drowsiness, dizziness, sleep problems, decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm, swollen or tender breasts (in men), nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea or constipation.This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Tell your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effect. 

STORING:

As with all medicines, keep them safely away from children.

Store Ranir at room temperature away from moisture, heat, and light
